Golden Eggs

Here at Clear Creek Valley Farm, our products are dependent on intensive, rotational grazing systems for their superior quality. The grass and other plants in our hens’ diets dramatically impacts their health and the quality of eggs produced. Right now, our chickens are enjoying very green, spring grass and clover. That vibrant, green color indicates the presence of chlorophyll in all plants that photosynthesize. Chlorophyll is a natural detoxicant that aids the chickens’ wellness and immunity. Along with chlorophyll, photosynthesizing plants contain xanthophyll, a yellow pigment which gives our egg yolks a vibrant golden color. Springtime yields some of the best eggs of the year!
