New Chicks!

150 broiler chicks have just arrived!

These chicks are the Cornish Cross variety. They will stay in this heated brooder for about 3 weeks and then go out to pasture where we will move them every day until butcher.

We source our poultry from Meyer Hatchery in Polk, Ohio.

Vocabulary:

Broiler - a chicken bred for efficient growth and intended for meat (not eggs).

Brooder - a heated facility for holding young birds during the first stages of life.
